Corporate Citizenship

Employee volunteering

Employee volunteering activities are rewarded

The Bank supports the volunteering activities of its employees. Employees are encouraged to assist charitable organisations in their free time by contributing their time and expertise.

“Point of Honour!” – Our employees help others

Employees who volunteer their time and effort to worthy social causes can receive support from the Bank in the form of paid leave or a donation for their projects. This form of corporate responsibility originates in the English-speaking countries, where the practice is very widespread. Thanks to its great effectiveness, it is increasingly being put to use in Europe as well.

HypoVereinsbank launched its own employee volunteering programme, known as “Ehrensache!” (Point of Honour!) in Germany, in December 2008. The objective of this programme is to get employees to realise that their Bank is part of a community that is held together by shared values and continues to evolve on that basis. To promote that idea, employees can receive up to two days special leave per year. We currently promote ongoing volunteer activities.
